I Refashioned My Gray Denim Dress!

我又開始修修改改我的衣服啦～～～～
懷孕的時後，為了消磨時間，把一些我的舊衣服改成給我女兒的。
當時其實，很想給自己做一些衣服，但懷孕的身材實在不是很適合呀….
寶寶出生以後，也沒什麼時間做裁縫…
I’m getting back into sewing again!
I used to make some dresses out of my old clothes for my daughter when I was pregnant with her.  
I wasn’t good at it, but I just love sewing and it is a great activity to pass time (since I couldn’t do much with a gigantic belly). 
After the baby was born, I was too busy to sew for a while…….

最近我下定決心，既使每天只有一點點時間，我還是要開始做一些縫紉。
But lately, I’ve made up my mind that I would get back into it again!

對我來說，縫紉是一件很療癒的事。(￣▽￣)
我很喜歡穿漂亮的衣服，但又不喜歡花太多錢。
（花錢，我心痛痛～～～～）
有寶寶了以後，更是不能常常給自己買新衣服呀。
所以我喜歡改衣服，舊衣新穿！
環保又省錢！
Sewing makes me feel good and peaceful. (Except when I have to redo what I just sewed…. hahah.)
I guess why I love doing it is because I like to look good without spending tons of money. 
Can’t spend all my money on buying clothes after the baby’s here. ^  ^ 
Besides, refashioning is good for the environment and can save you a lot of money. 

這件灰色牛仔布洋裝，是我生完寶寶以後，在一間二手衣店買的。
沒記錯的話，好像是$6美金吧…
主要就是想找件有扣子可以開、好餵奶的衣服。
I bought this gray denim dress from a thrift store after giving birth to my daughter. 
I think it was around $6. 
I just need some dresses that I can breastfeed in. 

但我根本很少穿這件洋裝…….因為我不喜歡穿有領子的衣服。

我的身材屬於短短、肉肉型……
我覺得穿高領的衣服讓我看起來更矮更…寬… (︶︿︶)
比較喜歡露出脖子來顯得更修長一點。
所以我最近終於有時間來把它改成適合我的風格！<(￣︶￣)/ 
Turned out, I didn’t wear it very often……… 
It’s not really my style. 
I usually don’t like to wear clothes with collar. 
I believe showing more of my neck makes my body look more slender. 
(I’m pretty short, and I hate to look even shorter and chubbier…>_<)
Therefore, I decided to alter this dress to the style that fits my body type more. 

我真的是自學裁縫的菜鳥，所以請見諒我的粗糙手工。\(“▔□▔)/
第一件事，就是把領子剪掉，把領口開大一點。
So the first thing I did was cutting off the collar and open up the neckline wider.
Before I cut it, I put on the dress and marked about how wide and low I wanted the neck line to be. 

然後我發現，把領子加回去還蠻可愛的！(*￣︶￣*)

沒有領子，看起來比較像波希米亞的隨性風（也好看）
加了領子就有點像50年代的小洋裝，我喜歡復古風
Then I realized that I actually like the collar back on a lower neckline. 
It kinda gives a vintage look of the 50s or 60s. 
Without the collar is more casual and boho style (which is also great), 
but I LOVE vintage style!
So I sewed the collars back on. 

因為領口變寬了，我需要把原來的領子剪成兩半。
所以只有前面有領子，後面沒有。
花了我一點腦力才想出來怎麼接回去…嘻嘻！
但我就是喜歡想辦法解決問題的過程。
Because the neckline was wider after I cut it, I had cut the original collar into half and sewed them back on. 
Ya… the collar is only on the front, but that’s fine. ^ ^
Took me a while to figured out how to sew the collar back on and close the edge around the neckline……
I told you, I’m not very good at this… heeh heeh. 
But I enjoy problem solving~ └(^o^)┘

我想要它是一件夏日小洋裝
所以我把袖子也剪了！！！！哈哈哈
然後我想要袖子是外翻的造型（大部分我是往內摺）
所以我把袖子往外摺，再縫起來
I wanted it to be a summer dress, so I cut the sleeves too. 
And I folded the sleeves outward and sewed around them. 
I would usually fold them inward, but I wanted the rolled-up-sleeve type of effect. 

將將～～～改造完畢！
Here is the finished look!

你問我：為什麼要在室內戴眼鏡？？？
因為我懶得化妝呀……….╮(╯▽╰)╭
You may ask why I was wearing sunglasses indoor. 
Well honestly, I was too lazy to put on makeup heeh heeh heeh.
